Bhool Bhulaiyaa is a 2007 Indian Hindi horror comedy film directed by Rupesh Paul. It stars Akshaye Khanna, Ameesha Patel, Sanjay Dutt and Anil Kapoor in prominent roles. The film was scheduled to release on 6 October 2007 but due to protests from animal rights activists against the act of horse slaughtering featured in the film it got released on 20 November 2007. The movie begins with a wealthy man, Mr. Ambani (Anil Kapoor) and his family living in a palatial bungalow. His family consists of his wife, Lata (Sulabha Arya), two sons, Raghu (Akshaye Khanna) and Vicky (Sanjay Dutt), and a daughter named Gudiya. The family is at their home celebrating Holi. However, during the celebrations, Gudiya is kidnapped by their next-door neighbor and landlord, Mr. Patel (Rahul Dev). Raghu tries to stop them but the kidnappers drug him so that they can escape with Gudiya. He is told that his father will pay a ransom of Rs 1,00,000 for Gudiya. When the kidnappers leave with her, Lata and Vicky go to Mr. Patel's house and demand that they hand back Gudiya immediately. Raghu wakes up only to realize that it is a dream. However, Gudiya has been brought to a farm where she has been "broken" by the previous owner, Mr. Tamta (Anil Kapoor), so that she can be sold. Mrs. Nani (Ameesha Patel) is the woman who bought her from Mr. Tamta and she teaches Gudiya to become an obedient servant for Mr. Patel. Mr. Patel is a very important person, and he is the mayor of Mumbai who also wants to become the Chief Minister of Maharashtra. He makes all sorts of plans using his post to make money for himself, and he hires Mr. Tamta to come up with a plan that will get him into the position that he wants to be in. In the meantime, Gudiya has been working at Mr. Patel's house and she lives a life of luxury through her work. When she falls in love with Raju (Anees Bazmee), a carpenter who has been working next door to Mr. Patel, she is ratted out by Mrs. Nani and is made to live in Mr. Patel's home with his family. Mrs. Nani resents her for this because it puts a strain on her steady income from renting out Gudiya to different people, but Gudiya manages to show that she can be completely obedient when she gets work from Mr. Patel for him. cfa1e77820
